only one aussie win in the history of the event so the European point is irrelevant

Never been many Aussie's playing though (at least good ones) and also a reason why I wouldn't back an Aussie in it.
Sport stats never lie TK, you know that ;o)

grumps, Australia arguably had the best player in the world over quite a few years in Peter Thompson and later Greg Norman yet they never had the balls to win it. I agree that Day is playing like a robot at the moment and making very few mistakes so he's the right favourite but 6/1 is a bit of a piss take when you consider how strong the field is
one good thing to see is Scott putting well with a proper putter. I just hope it doesn't work this week :.)

Tickets straight in the bin Mr B, they're fucked!!!
Nick Faldo the only English winner.
Don't know what it is, but this event has been raped by Yanks over the years.
Only recently when there have been decent priced winners too, been farmed almost completely by decent players.
To do you all a favour, I'll back every yank in it to guarantee a European winner!!!

It's a big hitters course, for sure.
Speith can be written off imo. Had a very poor last few months, Isn't the longest hitter and his putting hasn't been up to his usual standards. Mcilroy will have a chance, but he just doesn't seem to be able to get through a tournament without a couple of double bogeys so I can't see him making it either.
Personally, I can't look beyond Day for this one. On top of his game, and the only big gun really coming in with any form. I'll be lumping on him for sure.
Will stick a little bit on Bubba as hell make mincemeat of the Par 5's

I've gone for...
Rose, Matsuyama and as an outsider Kisner. It'll be hard to match 5(?) years ago when I had both Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen when they ended up in a play-off together.

My wastes of cash this year:
Rory McILROY 1RL- 10-1
Webb SIMPSON 200-1 E/W Patrick Reed 40/1 E/W
Thought I'd back McIlroy on the early round before he decides to fuck it up in the later rounds again.

Holes in one galore in the par 3 tournament- 8 so far.
Back to back from Thomas and Fowler followed him in, Speith had to pay up on that one.
Gary Player just got one, 80 years old.
Great little tournament before the serious stuff starts.
